Company Overview:
This company serves as an online program manager, assisting universities in converting traditional brick-and-mortar programs into accelerated online formats. They handle digital marketing, application support, and online marketing to attract and retain students, providing continuous support to students once they are enrolled.
The analytics team focuses on conversion optimization, developing predictive models using commercial propensity data to enhance their effectiveness. They also work on preventing student dropouts by assessing churn risk through predictive modeling, incorporating NLP and sentiment analysis. Additionally, they perform segmentation and benchmarking to further refine their strategies.
Reason for Role:
Project work load is increasing, but also they need a seasoned Data Scientist to come in to guide and mentor the other Data Scientist that has been with the company for 3 years straight out of a Master's program. This new Data Scientist needs to mentor and guide the junior Data Scientist and act as an apprentice more or less.
- Extensive experience in Python, SQL, Azure or AWS cloud environments.
- Experience in Propensity models, Sentiment analysis, and statistical modeling.
- Proven ability to apprentice and coach a junior Data Scientist.
- Someone who can write great code that matters,and is excited about the results it will bring to the company.
- Proven experience writing code that businesses can articulate.
- The ideal candidate for this role will have Salesforce experience, forecasting model experience, and segmentation analysis experience.
