Seeking a Leader will play a critical role in building, leading and mentoring a team of talented backend engineers responsible for developing and maintaining large-scale, highly scalable and secure cloud services that support consumer user facing applications OR business applications in enterprise networking, access, and security.

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship and direction to the backend engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based backend services using modern technologies and best practices (e.g., microservices architecture, APIs, DevOps methodologies).
- Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of backend systems.
- Attract, recruit, and retain top backend engineering talent.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
- Stay up to date on the latest cloud technologies and trends and evaluate their potential impact on consumer applications.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in cloud backend development (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar)
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role managing a team of backend engineers.
- Strong understanding of backend development principles (APIs, databases, distributed systems, data security).
- Experience building and scaling consumer facing applications OR business applications in enterprise networking, access, and security.
- Experience with API design and development principles.
- Experience with JAVA backend development frameworks and technologies (like SpringBoot and SpringCloud).
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases. (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassendra, Redis)
- Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying highly scalable and secure cloud-based applications.
- Experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and DevOps methodologies (CI/CD pipelines, key indicators like SLA/SLO/SLI).

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Istio).
- Experience with smart assistant, payment, subscription and partner integrations.
- Experience with open-source middleware (e.g. Message Queue like Kafka, Config Center like Apollo).
- Experience with serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, GCP Cloud Functions).
