Structural Balance Sheet Risk Specialist (Contract)

Summary of Position:


The role of the Structural Balance Sheet Risk Specialist will have a reporting line to the head of U.S. Structured Balance Sheet Risk. The risk specialist will ensure that the firm manages its liquidity and structural balance sheet risks in accordance with the firm’s risk appetite and other regulatory requirements, while supporting the team in providing independent oversight and monitoring of the firm’s Combined U.S. Operations (“CUSO”) overall funding and liquidity management activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Lead the daily production of key daily liquidity risk indicators and reporting

Create high quality senior management reports for internal and external stakeholders as needed

Partner with IT/engineering, data, and other technical resources of the firm to automate reporting and analysis Find innovative ways to identify key risks and implement processes to actively monitor these exposures Document operating procedures for daily liquidity monitoring and reporting on all liquidity metrics

Support the Structural Balance Sheet Risk team preparing meeting materials and analysis for recurring management liquidity risk committees

Engage in discussions with traders and risk managers regarding hedging, risk measurement, and risk management. Review liquidity stress testing and interest rate risk in the banking book practices, methodologies, and assumptions.


Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics; CFA, MBA or FRM a plus At least 5+ years of experience in a liquidity risk, treasury, and funding markets. Strong knowledge in rates, credit, and fixed income markets

Effective communications skills, with the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of colleagues. This includes traders, senior management, and other risk management colleagues

Strong quantitative background: expert knowledge in Excel modeling, PowerBI, and Python as well as experience with risk management tools

Database experience (SQL, Oracle)

Ability to deliver solutions and work independently with aggressive deadlines and comfortable in navigating in a changing environment
