Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to define great experiences from initial concept through successful implementation.
  • Visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity including high-level wireframes, conceptual designs, design presentations and detailed specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with one or more local or remote Agile Scrum teams, working iteratively to deliver customer value.
  • Provide designs that meet all required accessibility requirements for both government and commercial systems.
  • Use customer insights that come from analytics and customer interactions to help inform business and design decisions.
  • Help to facilitate and participate in user research like interviews and usability testing to validate designs and make iterative improvements.
  • Participate in and lead design-thinking exercises to break through organizational silos and collaboratively solve complex design challenges.
  • Produce sketches, workflow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, design.
  • Lead product demos to clients and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience utilizing a variety of human-centered design methods and best practices.
  • Experience leading user research - interviews, ethnography, user testing, etc.

  • Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences (e.g. written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Demonstrated versatility and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Product Designer or UX designer with demonstrated experience working with product management teams and technical stakeholders to articulate front-end functional requirements.
  • Quality portfolio of recent work “Please include your portfolio with your application. Your portfolio should show examples of the user-centered design process, design thinking, as well as your final design solutions.”
  • BA/BS or graduate degree in HCI, interaction design, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with agile software design methods
  • Experience supporting a complex ecosystem with multiple products.
  • Comfortable working on a distributed team and collaborating remotely.
  • Experience concepting and designing digital interactive for web.
  • Experience across varying products and platforms, mobile apps
  • Expertise in typography, composition, color, layout, design thinking, and content strategy in the design solutions you create.
  • Familiarity and experience with standard design, prototyping and user research tools, such as Figma, Miro, Adobe CS
  • Expert knowledge and experience with visual designer tools and skills (we currently use Sketch, Figma & AdobeXT)
