Sr. Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

- Tune, synchronize, and sequence Siemens drives for web handling applications to enhance reliability and automation efforts. Drive systems include S110, G120, and S120 Siemens Drive systems, as well as various other AC vector, low-voltage systems, DC drives, and more.

- Develop comprehensive support documentation for all projects and enhancements.

- Interpret, troubleshoot, and create machine electrical drawings.

- Configure PLC message instructions and network settings.

- Create Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), controls narratives, and testing protocols for both new and existing systems.

- Develop PLC programs and operator interfaces following TAMKO’s Programming Standards, including documentation requirements, modular programming, Object-Oriented Programming Library utilization, state logic diagrams, version control, and security protocols.

- Collaborate with Plant Systems and Reliability Group, manufacturing facilities, and other TAMKO departments to establish enterprise-wide hardware, programming, and documentation standards for control and drive systems.

- Mentor and provide training assistance to Instrumentation and Controls technicians.

- Collaborate with external contractors and consultants for equipment, controls, drives, and system installations when needed.

- Stay updated on new technologies and capabilities related to controls, drives, and web handling, leading the adoption of applicable advancements.

- Cultivate relationships with plant personnel, vendors, contractors, and colleagues across TAMKO, emphasizing teamwork, customer orientation, and engagement.

- Develop detailed plans, cost estimates, and justifications for improvements.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6+ years of experience in Controls/Automation.

- At least 2 years of industry experience with web-handling applications and controls/drives programming.

- Advanced understanding of web handling production processes.

- Proficiency in manufacturing systems fundamentals.

- Strong analytical skills with problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

- Advanced knowledge of Siemens Simatic and Simotion drives and controls, particularly S120s.

- Familiarity with other drives/controllers such as Micromaster and Baldor 18h.

- Experience in PLC logic development, primarily with Siemens 505 and Step 7 (S7) Series Systems.

- Understanding of mechanical/electrical systems.

- Proficient in schematics interpretation.

- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SCADA systems.

- Preferred skills in Siemens S120 drive systems optimization and Wonderware object-oriented HMI development in System Platform."
