Lead DeltaV Engineer

Lead the implementation, programming, and maintenance efforts for Emerson Process Management Distributed Control Systems (DCS), various Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems, and associated industrial process instrumentation.


Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead project execution and collaborate with project managers on technical design, progress, and ongoing needs.
  • Engage with customers to address technical aspects of projects and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Determine resource requirements and allocate assignments for ongoing projects.
  • Lead technical review and approval of control system manufacturer's cabinet drawings.
  • Play a key role in software upgrade audits, computer hardware and software installations, control system installations, and initial power-up inspections.
  • Facilitate engineering Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), commissioning, loop checkout, startup support, and emergency services.
  • Provide technical support services for DCS to our customer base.
  • Conduct consultative discussions with customers, principals, and internal colleagues on best practices and solutions to meet expectations.
  • Design control strategies for Basic Process Control and Safety Instrumented Systems Project Management.
  • Perform control system programming, logic testing, simulation, and Customer FAT Testing.
  • Conduct onsite Customer SAT Testing, training, and process startup support.


Ideal Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience with DeltaV and/or any other DCS platform.
  • Strong grasp of process control concepts, instrumentation, and electrical concepts.
  • Experience in participating in automation projects.
  • Proficiency in implementation and configuration of either DCS and/or PLC systems.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, loop checkout, factory acceptance testing, and startup of automation projects.
  • Programming experience with any modern DCS programming language.
  • Knowledge of Emerson Process Management DeltaV DCS system and AMS Device Manager System.
