Arcola Country Club:
Established in 1909 and situated on 187 acres of beautiful property in Paramus, New Jersey, Arcola Country Club features a renowned 18-hole championship golf course. Members enjoy dining in the Club’s majestic patio overlooking the NYC skyline, a newly renovated Mixed Grill Room, Grotto Bar, and Men’s Grill. The Club is in the process of completing a $7.5 million renovation to the main level of the clubhouse, including a newly built banquet room. The 24,000 square-foot clubhouse is open year-round with the exception of January. In the season, from April through October, the clubhouse is closed on Mondays, open on Tuesdays for lunch, and Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner. Annual gross revenues are $5 million, with food and beverage revenues of $1.5 million (30% generated through private event sales). The Club enjoys a full membership of 350 with a small waitlist. During the height of the season, there are 95 employees.
Sous Chef:
Arcola Country Club and our talented Executive Chef Angel Camacho Jr. CEC, CCA are seeking a passonate and experienced Sous Chef who is the Best of the Best, a consummate professional to be responsible for daily culinary operations of the club in support of the Executive chef and culinary staff. This role is pivotal in leading the Back of House (BOH) operations. The ideal candidate will be recognized in the industry and possess the appropriate combination of skills, leadership and personality best suited to the needs of the club. The expectaion is that the quality and consistency of all culinary operations will exceed those of comparable clubs in the area. This is a rare employment opportunity to be part of an icredible dedicated team of professionals in a new modern kitchen serving a very appreciative membership.
Ideal candidate profile:
The ideal candidate is a strong organized, hands on leader who is committed to excellence. They are self-motivated, capable of leading and building a cohesive team, possess a modern approach to team building. Additionally, the candidate must have a career path that demonstrates growth and developemnt in previous years leading up to this point of application.
The successful candidate must align with Arcola’s culture, demonstrating values, conduct and integrity consistent with Platinum standards.
Room for growth:
This Sous Chef position is expected to be a starting point for this ideal individual. With additional food outlets and concepts due to open in early Septmeber of 2024 at the club along with growth of our Culinary team it is expected that this Sous Chef position will be elevated to Chef De Cuisine or Executive Sous Chef after the first six months of succeful employment
Qualifications:
-This professional must have a minimum of 5 years expierence as a Sous Chef in a comparable high volume, high-end private golf club.
-Culinary degree from an accredited school is required.
-A certification from the American Culinary Federation is a plus.
-A leader who places extreme importance on mentoring and develping staff.
-A team player who always goes above and beyond member’s expectations.
-Must be able to to coordinate and control all facets of an active food and beverage operation.
-A polished, professional apperance.
-A broad based culinary background with knowledge of current culinary trends and cutting edge cuisines.
Arcola Country Club will offer an attractive and competitive compensation package for the right proffessional:
-A starting base salary of 80k-85k.
-Fiscal year end bonus.
-Professional dues subject to the annual budget.
