Our inspection systems are assembled, tested, and distributed from our purpose-built modern facilities in Salford, near Manchester in the UK, with a satellite site in Austria producing machined components.


The Minicam Group is an operating company of Halma Plc, a FTSE50 group of companies which specialize in safety, healthcare and environmental products and technologies.


Role Summary

We’re recruiting a Service Technician to run the service centre and be hands on carrying out service repairs of an electrical and mechanical nature on Minicam products. Our Service Technician’s deal with customers who are bringing in equipment for repair and you’ll assess returned equipment across our product range and fault find to understand the reason for a system or products fault. You’ll then and subsequently carrying out a repairs of mechanical and electrical nature to return the equipment to full use and be responsible for writing up the service job to provide feedback and details of parts used in the repair. Our Service Technician’s work across all of our products including cameras, robotic crawlers, control units, cable reels and coiler rods. As the Service Technician you’ll hold responsibility for the site. This is a varied role with offers the opportunity to work on fault finding and repairs across a variety of products with management responsibility and daily interaction with our customers.


What will you be doing?


Service Technician

  • Fault finding across all products to component level identifying issues of an electrical and mechanical nature.
  • Ability to read schematics/technical drawings and dissemble and re-assemble products.
  • Carry out repairs, maintenance and services to Minicam equipment including repairs to cameras, robotic crawlers, control units, cable reels and rod re-terminations.
  • Liaise with customers both face to face and over the phone with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Provide technical support to customers experiencing issues.
  • Book in systems and complete job sheets in our ERP system to record details of the work carried out, labor hours and parts used.
  • Monitor stock levels and raise stock order requests.
  • Provide goods in/out support and assistance in picking spare parts when required.


Management

  • Management of the service centre site, dealing with any facilities management issues and holding responsibility for the security and upkeep of the building.
  • Organise workflow and ensure that the team understand their duties or delegated tasks.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organisation standards and adhering to legal regulations to ensure all safe working practices are being adhered to throughout the site.
  • The Service Technician will be a strong voice in feeding back to the Senior Leadership team.


Requirements

  • Experience within a leadership position

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude to driving improvements.
  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team


Salary & Benefits: Base salary up to $78k dependent on experience + commission payable on charged service labor. Benefits include paid pension/401k and health, dental and vision insurance.
