Director, SAP Delivery

Overview:

The Director of SAP Delivery will lead the execution of programs, projects, and day-to-day operations for delivering SAP and related business application services. This role is integral to the organization's IT Leadership Team and contributes to strategic goals. To succeed, the individual must be highly driven, detail-oriented, and adept at navigating ambiguity to consistently achieve business outcomes. They must embody a naturally curious and highly accountable mindset, approaching situations thoughtfully and with a process-oriented approach.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead large-scale SAP implementations as part of global ERP consolidation and business process improvement initiatives.
  • Drive conversations with business process owners to advocate for standard, best-practice business process adoption.
  • Plan, assign, and coordinate tasks with employees to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy.
  • Develop and manage a global long-term ERP strategy and roadmap in collaboration with the business.
  • Identify risks and issues in advance, taking appropriate corrective and preventive actions to ensure project goals are met.
  • Understand business needs and establish IT strategies to enable business growth and improve process efficiency.
  • Manage SAP enhancement and support activity, ensuring continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure SOX and overall security compliance.
  • Participate in M&A and growth-related opportunities.
  • Develop and present project and technology proposals, providing status and progress reporting to management.
  • Act as a Change Management agent to drive standards and improve customer service and efficiency.
  • Lead the development of a business case for projects, including ROI and TCO assessments.
  • Oversee procurement activities, including contract establishment, vendor management, and product evaluation.
  • Mentor IT Project Leaders on project management methodologies and tools.
  • Improve relationships through effective negotiations and win-win agreements.
  • Promote departmental standards and procedures, contributing to and complying with published standards to ensure information systems' quality.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
  • 15 years of IT experience, with at least 6 years managing projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, customer focus, and team-building skills.
  • Confident self-starter with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Deep technical and functional competence.
  • Broad knowledge of SAP products and detailed module knowledge.
  • Experience leading organizational change management efforts.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Solid business acumen and process knowledge.
  • Experience leading regional or global teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Risk Management, Conflict Management, and Negotiation skills.
  • Previous experience leading the integration of acquired companies is required.
  • Previous experience leading the separation of divested companies is a plus.
