POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a Master’s or Doctoral level role requiring active licensure and the ability to be credentialed with insurance companies. The ketamine psychotherapist must possess strong expertise in mental health diagnoses, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapies like internal family systems (IFS), somatic techniques, EMDR, or behavioral therapies such as CBT or DBT for treating mental health disorders. The therapist will provide psychoeducation, teach coping skills, and develop individualized treatment plans and mental health protocols for specific populations. The role includes the option for traditional talk therapy without the use of ketamine, and therapists are welcome to bring existing clients into the practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have a current, valid license as a psychologist (PhD or PsyD), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), marriage and family therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia. Candidates must be fully licensed to practice independently (we are not accepting provisional licenses at this time).

Preferably, candidates should have experience in psychedelic/ketamine therapy or facilitation. However, if not trained, in-house training will be provided before conducting ketamine-assisted psychotherapy sessions.

DUTIES

  • Administer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP)
  • Provide psychotherapy to clients not undergoing psychedelic treatment
  • Conduct new patient assessments and evaluations
  • Attend ongoing training to stay current on the latest advancements in psychedelic therapy and psychotherapy techniques
  • Educate patients and their families on care, prevention, and ways to enhance treatment
  • Complete all documentation in a timely manner
  • Take on other duties as assigned by your supervisor
  • Participate in clinical supervision and/or team consultation for collaboration purposes
  • Maintain professional licensure
  • Provide services within the scope of training, seeking consultation as needed
  • Assist patients to their vehicles, restrooms, etc., when necessary
  • Be a collaborative team member, open to assisting colleagues, taking on new responsibilities, and contributing to clinic growth
  • Help develop new programs to expand the clinic's services
