The Houston office of Thompson Coe, LLP seeks an attorney with 5 to 10 years' experience in civil litigation to join the Casualty section of the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, and excellent advocacy and writing skills. Litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and attending mediations and/or trials is strongly preferred. Valid Texas BAR license required.


The attorney in this position will work on a variety of casualty cases, including wrongful death and survival actions, products liability, premises liability, dramshop, trucking and transportation, construction litigation, and other matters involving catastrophic personal injuries and/or property damage. The attorney will handle the day-to-day aspects of this work, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, and taking and defending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. Depending on the size and exposure of the case, the candidate will independently handle the case or work closely with a partner.
