Position Details

The ideal candidate is hands-on with a get things done attitude that can quickly learn and contribute to fast paced projects. He/she has multi-domain technical knowledge of wireless technologies LTE, 5G, and WiFi. He/she will spend the majority of his/her time in the lab contributing to activities like setting up and testing 5G Core Network, IP transport and Mobile Edge Compute (MEC) infrastructure.


Responsibilities

  1. Work within teams to install, troubleshoot, and configure 5G core network, Mobile Edge Compute and switching, routing and server environment
  2. Create test plans for evaluating 5G network functionalities like slicing, MOCN/Neutral Host, Mobile Edge Computing
  3. Execute test cases and report results
  4. Debug equipment issues and collect logs
  5. Monitor equipment remotely and generate reports
  6. Write scripts to automate testing and collecting data
  7. Communicate and report updates to project stake holders
  8. Help mount equipment in the lab


Required Qualifications

  1. Deep expertise in 5G (as well as LTE) networks with experience configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing, 5G/LTE protocol stack
  2. 5G NR core network knowledge such as AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, NEF and etc
  3. Expert in Wireless 5G SA architecture/3GPP with extensive knowledge of 5G NFs, message flows, APIs and Telco integration
  4. Expertise in integration of 5G NFs, AF/NEF to 3rd party NFs and applications to develop new enterprise opportunities
  5. Knowledge of 5G SA muti-vendor NF ecosystem distributed cloud native deployment on public cloud and hands-on lab integration and partner support
  6. Experience in designing, implementing and/or troubleshooting 5G core and associated service flows.
  7. Working knowledge of deploying MEC solutions, including end use cases like Computer Vision, in a cellular wireless environment
  8. Experience with Machine Learning and AI
  9. Knowledge and experience working in Linux OS environment including administration and troubleshooting
  10. Hands on experience integrating, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting 5G (and LTE) Core Network (Preferably has at least 5 years vendor experience)
  11. Good understanding of IP networking principles and protocols i.e. ability to configure/understand VLAN’s, Layer 2/3 routing, IP Security, bridging and planning a network design
  12. Knowledge and experience deploying software in virtual or cloud environments, i.e. OpenStack, OpenShift or containerization using Kubernetes
  13. Knowledge and experience of public cloud environments like IBM, AWS, Google
  14. Work base is in Denver (mandatory) Years of experience minimum 5 to 7 years



Preferred Qualifications

  1. Vendor certifications like Cisco (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE), Juniper, etc.
  2. WIFI technology experience
  3. Experience with deploying Open source LTE/5G core networks like Open5GS/NextEPC/Magma
  4. Working experience in the area of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)
  5. Working experience in the field of virtualized/open/cloud Core Network
  6. Identify potential industry use cases across 5G and Private wireless solutions.
  7. Knowledge of Private-cellular networks and its various use cases
