Construction Quality Control Manager

Intro 

  1. As the Construction Quality Control Manager, you will oversee all aspects of quality control for the construction department, ensuring compliance with all plans, specifications, regulations, and industry standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturers, the company operations and maintenance department to continuously refine the standards expected and enforce the policies that support quality construction. 

 

Major Duties 

  1. Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols that support the efficient and quality construction of commercial projects.  This includes development of inspection checklists, supervisory controls, and quality control/assurance manuals. 
  2. Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure compliance with the quality program and installation.  
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of plans and building code requirements.  Conducts research on industry best practices and factory installation requirements to refine the quality control plan.  
  4. Monitor Quality Control metrics and report trends and feedback on quality issues.
  5. Review company building plans and work with the company engineering department to provide design specification feedback.   
  6. Maintain, track, and close out all quality control documentation through appropriate written or electronic quality documentation. 
  7. Work with the Operations and Maintenance Department refine quality control program.  

 

Qualifications 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related professional certificate in quality management.  
  2. Proven experience in the construction quality control or assurance with a minimum of 5 years in the construction industry.  
  3. In depth knowledge of construction process including methods, materials, techniques and relevant building codes and regulations.  
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Demonstrated ability to work on a team and manage conflict.  
  5. Proficiency in used construction project management or quality control software.  

 

 

Supervisory Controls 

 

The CQCM position is a critical piece of the RSI Construction Management Team, and will report directly to the Director of Construction. The CQCM position is expected to work 40-50 hours/week, with core hours being Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM, and available to support non-standard working hours as necessary.  CQCM is currently a non- supervisory position, but as the organization grows and additional QC managers are hired, they will report under the CQCM position.   

 

Evaluation Factors 

 

The CQCM will be evaluated based on organizational success in building quality PV solar systems, and their abilities to constructively resolve non-conformance issues as they arise.  

 

Pay Scale 

 

The Quality Control Manager pay range is $80k-$130k/annum depending on qualifications and experience.    

 

Conditions of Employment 

 

CQCM must maintain current knowledge and familiarity with Construction Building Codes and Standards, including Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Trades as they pertain to PV Solar.  CQCM must maintain a valid driver’s license and is expected to commute frequently between job sites, currently as far north as Merced, south to Bakersfield.  Other conditions outlined in the employee handbook.
