Summary:

A Fortune 500 Food Company focused in meat production is looking for a new Senior Manager of Maintenance. This is a newly created position that will be on site in Sioux City, IA.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of maintenance operations within the meat production plant.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency of equipment and facilities.
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize production schedules.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting and controlling expenditures for labor, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all maintenance staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support production goals and resolve maintenance-related issues promptly.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Evaluate and recommend upgrades or replacements of equipment to improve efficiency and meet production demands.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of progressive maintenance management experience in food production or manufacturing, ideally in meat processing.
  • Demonstrated leadership with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, including team development.
  • Strong technical expertise in industrial equipment maintenance, especially in meat processing and utilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
