We are seeking a motivated Transactional Attorney with expertise in EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) compliance to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in transactional law, including corporate governance, contract negotiation, and employment law compliance, with a focus on addressing EEOC-related matters.


Position Summary:

This role involves handling a variety of transactional legal matters, providing strategic legal counsel to clients, and ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in EEOC compliance with the ability to navigate broader transactional matters such as regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and business agreements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • EEOC Compliance: Advise clients on EEOC regulations and employment laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA). Draft policies and handbooks, represent clients in EEOC proceedings, and provide training on compliance and risk mitigation. Stay updated on legal changes to ensure client alignment.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including purchase agreements, service contracts, NDAs, and licensing agreements.
  • Corporate Governance: Advise on corporate governance matters, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and provide guidance to boards of directors and senior management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and advise on risk management strategies.
  • General Business Transactions: Provide strategic legal advice on business operations, partnerships, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Client Interaction: Work directly with internal stakeholders, clients, and external counsel to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on changes in laws, regulations, and industry practices affecting the business.
  • Brief Writing: Ensure accuracy and clarity in written communications, adapting style for various audiences. Translate complex legal concepts into concise, effective language while maintaining professionalism and alignment with legal standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia and in good standing.
  • 5-10 years of experience in transactional law, including employment law and EEOC compliance.
  • Proven experience with corporate governance, entity formation, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including EEOC regulations and best practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience conducting EEOC investigations or responding to EEOC complaints.
  • Background in handling non-profit organizations, insurance companies, business formations or other complex corporate transactions.
  • Prior in-house counsel experience or experience at a top-tier law firm.
