Job Summary:

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing safety, quality, productivity, material handling, cost performance, and employee management for the assigned shift. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment. The role requires strong leadership skills to drive safety initiatives and best manufacturing practices, while also managing production schedules, reducing costs, and maintaining employee engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and teach safety processes and best manufacturing practices on the assigned shift.
  • Coordinate production scheduling to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve performance metrics using tools such as SPS, 6 Sigma, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing.
  • Foster productive relationships that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Provide direction, training, and development for hourly employees on the assigned shift.
  • Counsel and discipline employees as needed.
  • Identify, propose, and implement capital projects to improve operational performance.


Qualifications:

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift.

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Experience in safety.
  • Production scheduling experience.
  • Familiarity with work tools such as SPS, 6 Sigma, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or engineering is strongly preferred.
