Data Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Our client is seeking a Data Analyst to perform a key role on the Business Intelligence team taking data and using it to help them make better business decisions. The data analyst will work on data projects creating workflows using tools such as Alteryx to prepare and blend data, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services to create reports and Microsoft Power BI to create visualizations.
• The data analyst will also assist the applications team with support of Oracle and SQL databases and perform light DBA activities. The data analyst role requires creativity with a high attention to detail and drive for data accuracy.

• What You’ll Do Write SQL queries Interpret data, analyze results and create parameterized reports, dashboards and visualizations Create workflows in Alteryx to prep, blend data and move data to internal and external sources Assist the applications teams with supporting Oracle and SQL server databases Cataloging of data sources Create data models for storing, reporting and visualization purposes Tune solutions to improve performance and end-user experience Use good design practices that allow for recovery and restoration points Assist with Alteryx and SQL Reporting Services development standards and code reviews Document requirements and resolve conflicts and clear ambiguities
• Work in teams and collaborate with others Contribute to group knowledge sharing platforms and best practice Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong analytic skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems Locate and define new process improvement opportunities High attention to data accuracy
