Do you want to bring your experience constructing and managing some of the world's most complex New Product Bill of Materials to ASM? This may be the role you are looking for Our Phoenix location is our largest R&D Center. In this role, you will be the main POC (Point of Contact) between our industry leading ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) division, our EPI (Epitaxy) group and the newly acquired Reno RF Systems (in NJ) interfacing with key internal stakeholders at the VP and Director level, as well as Global Product Managers. You will also interact with our high-volume Manufacturing Engineering Managers to transfer new product to production, while also communicating remotely to managers in Singapore and Korea.

Team members include a mix of both seasoned and new-grad New Product Manufacturing Engineers, as well as highly skilled and long tenured Technicians. Between them all, they bring knowledge of many different industries, sophisticated machine shop insights, and DFx skills from the contract manufacturing world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Business Units and Global NPI (New Product Introduction) engineering teams to develop NPI business processes.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop Variant Configurator product structures for new products.
  • Construct and manage New Product Bills of Materials (BoM).
  • Identify gaps in current CIP (Continuous Improvement Project) and RFK (Retro-Fit Kit) business processes and implement solutions to close these gaps.
  • Introduce virtual analysis concepts and tools to NPI engineering during early product development phases.
  • Lead the NPI engineering team in providing technical support for new product builds, both in-house and at supplier sites.
  • Incorporate quality control into build and test processes to ensure new product quality.
  • Provide leadership to cross functional NPI manufacturing team to support Lab tool / evaluation system builds.

Qualifications:

  • 10 + years creating and implementing NPI business processes in the Semiconductor capital equipment industry/wafer fabrications/related.
  • 10 + years in semiconductor capital equipment industry
  • Experience in improving existing business processes for a smooth transition from New Product to High Volume Manufacturing.
  • Experience in managing contract manufacturers and first-tier suppliers in the early product development phases.

Required Technical, Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Effective management of a highly technical, global team.
  • Competency development within the team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively from the working level to the executive level.
  • Proficiency in identifying project risks and influencing the direction of NPI projects to mitigate those risks.
  • Must have experience with the manufacture of high value Capital Equipment
  • Vacuum system and high power systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Technical, Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Strong CVD process experience
  • Manufacture of high value Capital Equipment in the semiconductor industry.
  • Vacuum system and high power systems experience in the semiconductor industry. Examples include DC (controlling digital signals and modules), as well as 220vAC, and 480vAC (providing distribution to various functional blocks)
  • Experience with complex BOM Structure (we typically have 4000 to 8000 line items) with high level modules highly preferred
  • Experience with high level modules should reflect an understanding from a BOM perspective, of functional blocks such as Wafer processing chambers, factory interfaces, gas delivery solutions, power distribution and control, vacuum systems, and software
  • Experience with modular design of BOMs thereby enabling better control and management of the configuration, and allowing global operations to better deploy manufacturing and supply chain strategies.
  • Experience engaging in very early design stages to influence direction (DFx) (Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Serviceability etc).
  • Solid knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Advanced Variant Configuration use is helpful
