Are you passionate about sustainable design and ready to take your career to the next level? We are on the look out for highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Lead to join a top 10 US architecture firm within it’s Dallas HQ. The firm is leading the charge in integrating sustainable practices into the architecture industry and has a dedicated and expanding network of Sustainability Leaders across the US and Europe. As the Sustainability Lead in the Dallas office you will play a crucial role in driving sustainability strategies across the region for the South US covering Texas, Florida, and other key areas. You will work closely with studio leads and design team leads to integrate sustainability into every project, from the front end of design through to execution. This role is ideal for someone with 5-10 years of experience in architecture or engineering, who is ready to take on a leadership role and be a right-hand partner to the firm-wide Sustainability Director.


Key Responsibilities


  • Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a growing sustainability team, with direct reports focusing on coordination of sustainability assessments and benchmarking of building projects, energy transfer studies, material use, environmental and energy analytics and design and assessment of various projects. You will oversee the integration of sustainable practices into all projects, helping to create processes that are embedded in the design workflow from the very start. As the team grows and the focus of sustainability within the firm grows, your leadership responsibilities will increase.
  • Regional Oversight: Serve as the regional leader for the South US, covering Texas, Florida, and beyond. Collaborate with other sustainability leads across the firm to ensure alignment with firm-wide initiatives.
  • Client & External Communication: Engage with clients and external stakeholders to communicate sustainability goals, outcomes, and innovative strategies. Be the face of sustainability in client presentations and meetings.
  • Design Integration: Work with design teams to integrate sustainable design principles into complex building typologies. Help develop front-end design processes that maximize sustainability impact across project types.
  • Growth & Strategy: As the firm expands its sustainability offerings, you will help shape the future direction of sustainability as a service within the firm, ultimately supporting the ability to offer sustainability consulting to external clients.


Qualifications


  • 5-10 years of experience in architecture or engineering, with a focus on sustainability integration within design processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in, Architecture, Engineering, Energy, Environmental Science, Planning, Urban Design, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree in a similar field is preferred
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams, with experience in cross-office and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong technical knowledge in sustainable design and building systems, with a scientific understanding of structures and sustainability principles.
  • Experience working on complex building typologies and integrating sustainability into the front-end design process.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Willingness to travel within the region (10-15% travel) to support projects in cities such as Houston, Orlando, and Austin.
