Job Description
">We are actively seeking an ambitious Senior Environmental Planner specializing in the assessment and permitting of energy facilities, with a focus on renewable energy, electric transmission, and other energy facilities for immediate employment within the Texas area.
The primary work location is Dallas, TX, but we will consider excellent candidates interested in our other office locations (i.e., Austin or Houston). This is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities:
">- Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others.
- Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products.
- Usually performs as a staff advisor and consultant as to a technical specialty, a type of facility, industry, equipment or program function.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.
- Oversees specialized planning functions, such as large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies.
- Provides overall management of IE-related planning issues.
- Advises the Planning Director on all planning-related matters.
- Advises various councils, boards, commissions and elected officials in planning related issues.
- Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities.
- Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.
Qualifications
">We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Environmental Planner with a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, environmental planning, natural/biological resource management or other related field experience.
The ideal candidate will have 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education successfully supporting environmental impact analysis documents and associated technical studies, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, Endangered Species Act (ESA) compliance, avian and bat studies, natural resources surveys, and Clean Water Act (CWA) permitting.
