We are looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team.


The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll processing within the organization. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of payroll regulations and procedures. The Payroll Manager ensures timely and accurate payment of wages to employees while adhering to legal and company policies.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process (multi-state weekly payroll), including collecting, calculating, auditing and processing employee time sheets, salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and labor laws. Stay updated on changes to regulations and implement necessary adjustments to payroll processes accordingly.
  • Collaborate with IT and HRIS team to oversee the payroll software and systems, ensuring they are up-to-date, accurate, and efficient.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records related to payroll, including salary information, tax withholdings, deductions, and direct deposit details. Ensure data integrity and security.
  • Generate regular payroll reports for management, finance, and other departments as needed. Prepare reports for tax purposes, audits, and internal analysis.
  • Partner with HR team for employee inquiries related to payroll, including questions about pay, taxes, deductions, and benefits. Provide timely and accurate responses to resolve issues and address concerns.
  • Coordinate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll-related transactions. Collaborate with external partners, such as tax authorities and payroll service providers, as needed.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews of payroll processes, systems, and data to identify discrepancies, errors, or areas for improvement. Implement new processes as necessary to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Work with various departments to simplify procedures and enhance the overall effectiveness of payroll operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff involved in payroll processing to ensure they understand procedures, regulations, and best practices. Stay informed about developments in payroll management and share knowledge with team members.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5-7 years in payroll processing and management, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and systems (Oracle HCM and UKG Workforce Pro preferred), as well as MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Forward-thinking individual adept at identifying possible future challenges and taking proactive steps to address them ahead of time.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
