As a key member of the Management Team, the HSE Manager reports directly to executive leadership. This role is responsible for strategizing, coordinating, and managing health, safety, and environmental initiatives, ensuring alignment with both company standards and legal requirements. They implement an HSE system focused on preserving human health and environmental protection, while guiding and inspiring a team of HSE professionals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-8 years in HSE management within construction or a related industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in safety management or a similar field.
- Certifications: CHST certification is mandatory, with CSP preferred.
- Skills: Proven ability to organize, solve problems, analyze data, prioritize tasks, and manage workloads effectively.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites nationwide up to 50% of the time
- Adaptability: Ability to remain positive and flexible in dynamic, shifting environments.
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with operations and commercial teams to ensure safety protocols are integrated into project planning and execution.
- Develop and update safety manuals and environmental protocols for the organization.
- Lead the implementation of company-wide health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, ensuring regular reporting.
- Conduct and manage company HSE training programs.
- Oversee employee injury claims and vehicle damage claims as part of risk management.
- Visit work sites to perform inspections, document findings, support safety meetings, and deliver on-site safety talks.
- Set objectives and delegate tasks for HSE team members.
- Conduct annual performance reviews to provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Oversee the maintenance of prequalification systems (e.g., ISNET, Avetta).
