This role is a wide-ranging position in a high-energy productive R&D team. The successful candidate will be able to perform a wide range of lab duties, including analytical, characterization, physical property tests of chemicals and preparation of testing specimens.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Run lab samples.
  2. Monitor raw material/chemical/gas supplies; ordering and receiving/hook up
  3. Keep records of all data
  4. Identify equipment upgrades to remove bottlenecks.
  5. Manage common equipment calibration and records
  6. Perform selected equipment maintenance and keep proper records.
  7. Advise and confer with scientists in review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations.
  8. Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment when needed
  9. Execute experimental plan and reporting
  10. Oversee the R&D document/procedure control
  11. Responsible for all government compliance and reporting
  12. Responsible for waste management; keep records of waste generation, disposal and reporting
  13. Coordinate safety events and activities on site
  14. Other duties that may be requested by management



Experience Requirement

Minimum five years relevant lab experience considered in conjunction with education

Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions and directions

Ability to read and understand safety procedures, including OSHA standards and regulations

Good mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred

Ability to recognize and safely respond to emergency situations

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments

Good communications skills; fluent in English including reading, writing and speaking; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organization

Basic training of waste handling, including hazardous waste

Basic maintenance and calibration of chromatography equipment

Excellent computer skills, including ability to easily use MS Office suite and ability to easily learn advanced software.



Education Requirement

  1. Twenty hours college chemistry is minimum
  2. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or another technical field is preferred
