Job Opportunity: Finance Manager – Global Freight Forwarder & Logistics Provider


Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey


Our client, a fast-growing scale-up in the freight forwarding and logistics sector, is seeking an ambitious and experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial operations for their newly established US entity. With a strong foundation in Europe and an entrepreneurial mindset, this company is revolutionizing the logistics industry with its dynamic, start-up mentality and commitment to rapid growth.


As they expand into the US market, the company is looking for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is excited by the opportunity to shape the financial backbone of a high-growth business. This role will be based in their new office in New Brunswick, New Jersey, reporting directly to the Managing Director (US).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of all financial operations for the US entity, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost management.
  • Establish and optimize financial processes, policies, and controls to support scalability and compliance.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and management accounts.
  • Ensure full compliance with US GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis to guide decision-making, investment opportunities, and growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director and other stakeholders to develop and execute strategies for rapid market expansion.
  • Build strong financial relationships with external auditors, banks, and vendors to support the company’s operational and growth objectives.
  • Contribute to a start-up culture by identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies and innovative financial solutions.


Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in financial management, ideally within fast-growing organizations in the freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation sectors.
  • A track record of success in scaling financial operations for a start-up or scale-up business.
  • Expertise in US GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting standards.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving in high-growth environments.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms, with a keen interest in process improvement and automation.
