Job Title: Senior Technical Program Manager – Telematics
Location: Newark, CA (5 Days Onsite)
Duration: Contract till 04-17-2025 (Potential for extension, not guaranteed)
We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager with extensive Telematics experience to lead embedded systems projects within the electric car or automobile industry. This role requires managing the full lifecycle of Telematics Control Unit (TCU) software, from development to maintenance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates technical leadership, and works effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Telematics programs, defining milestones, success criteria, resource allocation, and ensuring on-time delivery.
- Facilitate agile processes, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Communicate schedules, priorities, and project statuses across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers, driving technical discussions to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Influence technical decisions across cross-functional teams and propose alternative solutions when needed.
- Own and maintain effective technical relationships with vendors and manage dependencies.
- Work closely with engineering teams, estimating work efforts, defining milestones, and tracking progress.
- Proactively identify and resolve obstacles to ensure momentum, progress, and delivery of high-quality results.
- Support teams with competing priorities and manage escalations, keeping projects on track.
- Execute long-term roadmaps for embedded system projects, coordinating both single-team and cross-functional efforts.
Qualifications:
- MS/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of Program Management experience in technical, cross-functional projects.
- 10+ years of experience in highly reliable embedded systems and software development.
- Expertise in one or more areas: Over-the-Air updates, Operating Systems, wireless (LTE, WiFi), firmware, networking, SOC, BSP, and ASIC development.
- Strong knowledge of technical architectures, software development lifecycles, and project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Proven ability to exercise technical judgment and manage execution and high-quality product delivery.
- Experience with cloud systems, MQTT protocol, and vehicle-to-cloud communication is a plus.
- Prior experience in the automobile industry with an understanding of vehicle architecture and communication systems.
