Food Safety and Quality Coordinator

Job Title: FSQA Coordinator
Salary: $55-65,000
Schedule: 6am -3pm - hours may vary depending on production & OT required
1st shift 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. However, the candidate must have schedule flexibility to do Preop at 4:00 am and also trainings in 2nd shift as needed.
Location: Grand Prairie
Job Overview:
We manufacture canned foods that are consumed daily by thousands of people. We are a quality focused organization (SQF certified) that believes in doing things right without compromise.
We are looking for a quality-oriented individual with great people skills. You will be working hand in hand with our FSQA team, to continue building and maintaining our quality programs.
In a typical workday, you might complete these tasks:
Maintain and review the Food Safety and Quality system.
Perform HACCP records review
Track, trend & analyze CAPA within the plant.
Trend analytical data and develop initiatives for continuous improvement and to ensure plant compliance with company, customer and regulatory standards.
Participate in the food safety and quality assessments including validations of manufacturing processes, HACCP/FSMA Food Safety Plans and Food Quality Plans.
Coach production employees and gain their support to meet food safety and quality objectives.
Conduct food safety and quality trainings, and other growth and development opportunities.
Manage the Internal Auditing program, assigning the audits and following up with found non-conformances until complete close out of the issue.
Prepare and review documentation for CFIA export.
Actively participate in the review, development, and improvement of our Quality Programs and Policies.
Supervise, train and schedule our team of Quality Technicians. QA Laboratory (as needed):
Pre-op inspection
Set up lab for the day
Daily Incubation testing
Finished Product Testing & Inspection
In-process testing (net weights, drain weights, pH, salt) Raw material inspections
About you:
You’re service-oriented and a great communicator.
You’ve had some experience (3 years preferred) in Quality within a food manufacturing or in a laboratory role.
You dig organization and love crossing items off your task list.
You like to solve problems and details matter.
You’re comfortable learning new skills & technology, but not afraid to ask questions and seek out ways to improve your skills.
Must Haves:
Bilingual English/Spanish
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Science, Quality or related discipline Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook, in particular)
Proficiency in SPC (Statistical Process Control)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs periodically
HACCP Certificate
Better Process Control School Certificate
Bonus:
Knowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) Internal Auditor training.
