About the Company

Sustainserv is a 30-person management consulting firm specialized in the development of corporate sustainability strategy, programs, and communications. Founded in 2001 by a team of PhD-trained scientists, Sustainserv has offices in Boston Massachusetts, Nashville Tennessee, Zurich Switzerland, and Frankfurt Germany. Our international team combines its expertise in metric-driven analysis and communications to provide comprehensive sustainability solutions that drive business growth. Our experience in different cultures helps us to provide our clients with a global view on sustainability issues and to build bridges between partners in different parts of the world.

Position Summary

This team member would be expected to support and contribute to multi-stakeholder consulting projects. Would support a team in sustainability strategy development, quantitative analysis and sustainability program implementation. Further, assist in the development of environmental and sustainability reports, most aligned with the guidelines of the GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP and similar, supporting clients of various size and different industries. Consultants are expected to help develop new products and services for our consulting practice in close collaboration with the teams in Boston and Zurich and external partners. Assist in the development of project proposals, research reports, white papers, marketing materials, blog articles and other documentation.

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in engineering, sciences, journalism/communications, business or related fields
  • Relevant educational experience or preferred 1-3 years of experience in a professional consulting firm (environmental, communications or engineering) or equivalent
  • Preferred 1-3 years’ experience with environmental data accounting, life cycle analysis, greenhouse gas, energy and/or financial calculations
  • A demonstrated interest in, passion for and knowledge of the subject of sustainability, particularly as it applied to the corporate context.
  • Strong writer/editor and communicator.
  • Proactive, excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and show ability to use time efficiently
  • Superb judgement and decision making
  • Solutions-oriented
  • Good listening skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, including Powerpoint, Excel and MS Word)

Benefits, Wages and Work Expectations

  • $75,000 and 8% bonus
  • 4 weeks vacation plus public holidays and Christmas/New Years full week break

  • In office (downtown Boston 3 days per week), WFH Mondays and Fridays
  • ~40-45 hours per week with exceptions
