Position Overview:

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of municipal construction projects from initiation through completion. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage budgets, schedules, resources, and teams, while ensuring that projects meet all regulatory, safety, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction or engineering, as well as experience managing municipal projects, including public infrastructure and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of municipal construction projects, including infrastructure, utilities, roadways, and stormwater systems.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and timelines, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as safety and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, municipalities, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Lead project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel, ensuring effective collaboration and adherence to quality standards.
  • Track project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs (requests for information), and submittals.
  • Review and approve project plans, budgets, and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Organize and lead regular project meetings with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure alignment and address any project concerns.
  • Monitor and manage project costs, including materials, labor, and subcontractor expenses, ensuring financial efficiency and accuracy.
  • Enforce and promote a strong safety culture on all job sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper project close-out, including punch lists, final inspections, and the handover of completed projects to clients.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to help identify new municipal project opportunities and assist in preparing proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing construction projects, with a focus on municipal or public sector projects.
  • Strong understanding of municipal construction processes, including infrastructure, utilities, and public works projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Buildertrend, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
