Estimator

The Estimator plays a crucial role in the success of our projects by accurately assessing the time, cost, and resources required to complete them. This position involves meticulous analysis of project plans, blueprints, and specifications to provide realistic and competitive estimates that align with our company's goals and client expectations.


Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a 4-year college. (Preferred but not required)
  •  Experience as a construction manager or in a similar position.


Responsibilities:

  •  Prepare the job estimations by preparing, reviewing and understanding project drawings and specifications – including material take offs and pricing. Collect all information from the customer to be able to provide estimates and ultimately win jobs.
  •  Prepare quality surveys and estimate costs of materials, labor and equipment for projects and prepare site layouts and surveying drawings.
  •  Review subcontractor and supplier bids for conformity to contract requirements and procure subcontractors with reports supporting the scope of work and tracking costs.
  •  Prepare and review comprehensive proposals, attend project pre-bid meetings and participate in project qualification presentations.
  •  Ensure customer expectations are met, and any issues resolved.
  •  Help identify ways of increasing the value MILLER provides to its customers and strive to convey this to customers.


Skills:

  •  Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
  •  Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets.
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Goal-oriented and organized leadership skills.
  •  Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
  •  In-depth understanding of the construction industry.
  •  Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with project management software preferred.
  •  Organized and able to create multiple timelines, budgets and schedules.
  •  Ability to build solid relations with team members, vendors and customers.
