Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise daily machining operations to ensure efficiency and productivity while maintaining accountability
  • Lead, train, and develop a team of machinists, promoting a positive work environment
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust workloads to meet deadlines and targets
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices and protocols in the machining area
  • Analyze machining processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to assess and maintain product quality standards
  • Work with team to coordinate and implement improvement activities
  • Implement and verify corrective actions
  • Gather and summarize performance data
  • Promote, follow, and help establish standard work

Competencies:

  • Proven experience in a machining environment with a focus on CNC lathes and/or milling experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations within a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with ISO and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Good time management and organization skills
  • Great communicator, team builder, and coach
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and machining processes
