What you’ll be doing:
As an Electrical Engineer you are responsible for supporting the hardware development & selection of state-of-the-art electronic elements within the overall systems design while keeping manufacturability in mind. This includes design, analysis, testing, & rapid prototyping.
- Generate harness designs for supporting cable routing & component mounting.
- Support the development of component & harness 3D CAD models.
- Support production of component to system level 2D schematics & drawings.
- Support the production of component PCB designs to handing off completed Gerber files.
- Generate product designs of digital/analog hardware incorporating ethernet, serial communication protocols, processors, memory, power distribution, wireless communications, image processing, etc.…
- Establish component level requirements.
- Perform basic component level DFMEA analysis as needed.
- Partner with global sourcing teams to identify & drive component level supply chain through product development.
- Identify various component offerings throughout the development life cycle to support continuous improvement by driving cost down, while maintaining product quality.
- Review component suppliers’ control & test plans.
- Create production intent rapid prototypes as needed.
- Develop component validation & verification specifications.
- Develop component production specifications including in process & end of line testing.
What you’ll bring:
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in a product development role.
- Proficiency in multiple CAD platforms.
- Proficiency with various tools for creation of prototypes & troubleshooting. (Ex. Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Function Generators, Spectrum Analyzer, Crimping Tools, Soldering Iron, Wire Strippers, etc.…)
- Proven experience with creation of systems schematics, PCB, & harness designs.
- Experience with creation of designs incorporating analog & digital circuitry.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Frequently requires handling with repetitive motions of materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Altium software.
- Experience with SolidWorks software.
- Experience with DFMEA analysis.
- Understanding of electrical standards such as WHMA.
- Exposure to coding languages such as C, C++, Java, & Python.
- Experience with driving devices through certification.
- Experience with cameras & image sensing.
- Experience with wireless technologies. (Ex. Bluetooth & WIFI)
