This company is a leading player in the global air transport aftermarket industry, acting as a comprehensive supply chain partner. It provides a wide range of services, including individual components, complex systems, engines, and custom-tailored solutions. The organization serves airlines, leasing companies, MROs, OEMs, and resellers worldwide, continuously aligning its assets with the needs of customers and vendors across the globe.


The company's in-house technical experts have extensive experience with the components, systems, and engines of the aircraft types they support. Their quality and repair expertise have been proven to meet the requirements of even the strictest customers. Since its foundation, the company has refined its strategy, value proposition, and product offerings to support its customer base effectively.


The company initially focused on purchasing new surplus and obsolete commercial aircraft parts from OEMs and authorized distributors, reselling them to various and diverse customers within the Aerospace Aftermarket industry. However, through a strategic acquisition, the organization shifted its focus to support the Used Serviceable Material (USM) market and the global air transport industry.


This strategic shift began with the nose-to-tail support of specific aircraft families and transformed the company from a parts wholesaler into a global supply chain leader. Over the years, the company has expanded its service offerings to include various aircraft types, engines, and APUs, aligning with market demands.


Today, the company operates from a state-of-the-art facility, holding ISO 9001:2015, AS9120B:2016, and ASA-100 accreditations, ensuring the highest level of quality for its customers.



The Position:


Aligned with the strategic vision and top-level goals of the organization, the role of the Director of Supply Chain is critical in optimizing inventory assets and driving overall company performance. The Director will lead supply chain teams with a focus on operational excellence, supporting key customer strategies. The position oversees all aspects of supply chain operations, including purchasing, repairs, inventory, and vendor selection.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Support, enhance, and manage the strategic plan related to targeting, developing, building, optimizing, and managing inventory assets for the organization.
  • Develop executive-level relationships within key targeted companies to ensure the organization obtains assets and materials at the best value to increase liquidity.
  • Build executive-level relationships with key targeted Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Organizations (MROs) to ensure optimal services and increase liquidity.
  • Develop relationships with new and future suppliers to secure the best opportunities for procuring and/or repairing components.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure optimal contracts, pricing, and service.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to address issues, communicate industry trends, and grow the company.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand incoming materials and determine the best plan of action for repairs and staging materials for sale.


Senior Management and Analysis:


  • Manage, coach, lead, and mentor the Supply Chain management team, providing guidance and solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Ensure the Supply Chain management team effectively leads the Purchasing and Repairs team, fully executing job responsibilities, including data management, collecting RFQs, and adhering to company pricing guidelines.
  • Perform monthly 1-on-1 meetings to manage the performance, productivity, and proficiency of the Supply Chain management team.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager in conducting weekly department meetings to communicate company-wide updates, address obstacles, and discuss status updates on current projects and goals.
  • Act as a liaison and point of contact for purchasing and repair departments, ensuring cross-interdepartmental communication.
  • Analyze inventory levels and demand/spend profiles for components to inform repair and purchasing decisions.

Qualifications & Education:


  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
  • 7+ years of directly related experience in an aerospace environment.
  • Strong mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
  • Ability to handle adverse and urgent situations.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating.


Travel:


  • Some travel required (10%).
