Role Summary:

Responsible to coordinate, track, and maintain the daily and weekly objectives to support the profitable operation of the business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

 Manage monthly scrap, labor, and production goals.

 Create a team focus with total throughput and customer interface, as necessary.

 Effectively promote and develop staff; establishing an effective working relationship, effectively evaluating performance, and coaching them to develop their capabilities.

 Act as continuous improvement champion and look for ways to improve efficiencies and processes, including generating innovative or creative methods of completing work.

 Maintain compliance with all ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S standards.

 Ensure first time quality and daily production schedule priorities are met.

 Weekly tracking and reporting of OEE. Meetings will be held weekly with management.

 Maintain Production schedule for all shifts.

 Work with Human Resources to maintain staffing needs and changes.

 Ensure compliance to company safety and environmental policy, procedures, and management systems.

 Responsible for providing the proper technical support to the business unit via both internal and/or external resources.

 Ensure cleanliness and 6S standards are met on the manufacturing floor.

 Perform other duties as assigned.


Experience:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The Production Manager should possess experience within the automotive sector, preferably with a plastic injection molding background. This individual should be familiar with problem solving and process analysis and possess the ability to effectively lead problem solving teams. Leadership and interpersonal skills are required to interface effectively with our customers, suppliers, employees and all levels of management. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.


Human Relations:

Primary contact will be Manufacturing Supervisors and production employees. The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is essential. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Position functions within a plastic injection molding environment.

The Production Manager may at times be exposed to extremes in temperature and noise. The Production Manager must observe all safety and security precautions and become familiar with procedures to take when issues arise.


Physical Demands:

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Able to walk and stand for long periods of time Instructions Received: This position receives written and oral instructions from the Plant Manager and Plant Management team.


Supervision and/or Controls: This position works under the general direction of the Plant Manager within established guidelines.
