Vice President of Merchandising

As the Vice President of Merchandising, you are the leader in the development and execution of the global product line plan. The line plans will be focused in our primary markets of streetwear, athletic apparel & footwear, sports licensed. You will stay ahead of fashion trends, cultural shifts, sport performance and business dynamics to inform the line plan from all perspectives. You will lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the product direction meets the objectives of driving sales, establishing a clear point of difference, hitting key calendar dates, and serving the needs of our customers and consumers.
Pro Standard is a player to be reckoned with in the sports fashion world and as we continue to add to our team, we are looking for a strategic leader to take the helm for our dedicated Merchandising Team. We are looking for a thought leader who is also willing to roll-up their sleeves.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement the go-to-market product strategy that aligns with the brand vision and business goals
- Bring to life seasonal line plans that are supported by data and supplemented by white space opportunities
- Conduct regular market analysis to identify gaps and opportunities in current assortments
- Analyze sales data and industry trends to make data-driven decisions and recommendations for improving product assortments and merchandising tactics, including reviewing competitor pricing and marketplace positioning
- Create timeline accountability across Sales, Design, and Production teams
- Manage special events and moment in time product opportunities
- Collaborate with the marketing team on supporting the merchandising strategy and timelines of product releases
- Collaborate closely with the Product Development team to monitor and synchronize product samples
- Lead cross-functional teams with sales, planning and marketing departments to develop and maintain the GTM calendar, ensuring seamless execution across all channels and touchpoints
What should you have?
- Bachelors degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business or related field
- 12+ years of professional experience in product merchandising, preferably apparel
- 5+ years of leadership and strategic experience
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of merchandising professionals
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to travel up to 40%
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth through merchandising initiatives
- Ability to work cross-functionally
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience in vendor management and procurement
