Laboratory Technician

Must Haves:

  • 0-2 years of experience in the lab
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related degree (preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering) ; or currently enrolled in a matriculated program geared towards a four-year science degree
  • Ability to follow a set formula and procedure provided by senior chemists to create finished formulations
  • Mobile ability and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work under a matrix system and collaborate, learn from, and report to multiple people

Plusses:

  • Formulation background (preferably in the cosmetics/ personal care space)
  • Familiarity with pH meters, Brookfield Viscometer, stand mixers, and Silverson homogenizers
  • Experience performing and tracking prototype stability and compatibility



Day-To-Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Formulation Lab Tech for a client in Tarrytown, NY. This person will be joining the formulation team in the personal care division. This team is responsible for creating formulations of personal care products including shampoos, conditioners, sun care products, lotions, but not limited to gels, creams, serums, sticks, sprays and balms. The candidate will learn, collaborate with, and report into a team of 5 senior chemists. They will be following a set formula and procedure created by the senior chemists to create the finished formulas. 100% of their day will be creating and testing the formulations, alongside batching them in containers. Good communication, ability to work in a team environment, and organization skills are encouraged.
