Metric Geo are partnered with an Iowa-based general contractor working across 30+ states looking to hire their next Preconstruction Manager You will need to be based in or be able to relocate to the St Louis for this position.
Experience on a variety of construction projects including industrial, healthcare, commercial & mission critical is ideal.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports project teams during the preconstruction phase, including tasks like budgeting, estimating, scheduling, value analysis, and design management for various delivery methods.
- Prepares bid schedules to determine project costs.
- Collaborates closely with the design team during development to manage project costs.
- Provides technical support for negotiating contracts and change orders.
- Consults with clients, vendors, project teams, and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Reviews construction documents to understand the scope of work for bidding.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of final estimate packages before formal quotation.
- Supports the marketing/business development team by providing cost opinion assistance as needed.
- Updates and maintains the estimating system.
