About the Role:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for designing new electro-mechanical assemblies for space robotics system from conceptual to detailed design, manufacturing, and evaluation. A fearless startup mindset — those ready to ditch the manual, think on your feet, and innovate relentlessly is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Design electro-mechanical assemblies to achieve high performance and reliable space robotic products
  • Lead a broad range of development activities from initial design through manufacturing and testing with a strong hands-on approach
  • Encourage collaboration with electrical and software design teams to achieve optimal robot assembly configurations
  • Design and conduct various types of tests such as operation verification test, reliability and lifetime evaluation, etc.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of professional industry experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in designing electro-mechanical components that consist of a large number of precise components, such as actuators
  • Exspaties of mechanical drawing based on a strong understanding of GD&T
  • Excellent hands-on 3D CAD skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong hands-on skills for assemblying electro-mechanical components
  • Strong hands-on skills for various types of environmental testing such as vibration, thermal, and vacuum etc.
  • Fundamental and practical understanding of thermal design in mechanical design
  • Experience with both small R&D phase products and mass production
  • Practical understanding and experience in failure analysis
  • Strong understanding of metallic materials for aerospace applications, including stainless steels, aluminum alloys, and titanium alloys
