CoWorx Staffing Services has an exciting opportunity to join one of our premier clients team as a Quality Engineer in the Griffin area. Our client is expanding and has a lot of exciting growth opportunities.

This role has responsibility for analyzing internal and external data streams and resolving product quality issues caused by suppliers, internal manufacturing and product design. This role is also responsible for ensuring APQP activities are completed during new product and process introductions as well as product and process changes.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Quality Engineer develops plans and tools that are used for internal quality certification for both the implementation of maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), Ongoing conformance to the QMS will also align with the corporate requirements of the successful implementation/utilization of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) tools.
  • This position will conduct investigation and analyses which contribute to the development and implementation of methods, procedures and equipment that ensure quality standards for parts and prime products. Also, the position will provide technical support for a commodity or commodity grouping of similar products by leading on quality development and certification of processes, cost reduction, production quality problems resolution, and warranty reduction.
  • This position is required to work with all employees to improve quality practices in their processes through quality manner such as daily coaching, tracing CPI (Continuous Product Improvement) projects and Scorecard, providing quality support if any poor results or negative trends occur, developing training programs, providing training courses of quality audits, facilitating management reviews, etc.
  • This position is required to implement the Corrective and Preventive action processes by clarifying and verifying all ideas with related persons and spot check, explain validation reasons, and encourage all employees to make contributions to achieve zero defect in operations.
  • Coordinate with engineering personnel on matters regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), prove design to production, engineering changes and deviations, supplier designs, specification approvals, and meeting cost reduction goals.
  • This position is required to be proactive to develop quality related control methodologies and systems such as Cost of Quality control company-wide. Encourage the implementation of the established systems. Analyze and solve problems occurring during implementation.


Minor Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position is required to actively support Safety/5S/Lean Manufacturing/Class A and on-going support, to help area owners set up goals and integrate 5S/Lean Manufacturing Practices with Internal Quality Certification system through standardization and documentation.


Qualifications for the Job:

Education:

A Bachelor's degree with an excellent understanding of quality management practices.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, or in a quality related field is required.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 (i.e. auditing certification, etc.)
  • Previous experience leading New Product Introductions (NPI) projects.
  • Previous experience leading Continuous Product Introductions (CPI) projects.
  • APQP & PPAP experience.
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of quality concepts including process control, analysis, SANY internal certification principals, etc.
  • Requires strong communication, cooperation and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers, especially with leadership management employees.
  • Experience with Quality Management System and to be able to teach manufacturing/office employees how to properly apply quality tools or techniques.

  • Ability to climb in/out of machinery.
