We are a third generation, family-owned, specialty food distributor located in Jersey City, NJ, servicing the food industry for over 65 years. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Customer Service Specialist who is interested in the food industry to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for taking customer phone and email orders, handling any customer concerns and delivery issues, and performing order entry and inside sales support duties.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide information about our products and services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve product issues, interacting with logistics when necessary
  • Offer suggestions for substitutions and up-sell products
  • Interact with company's sales staff, handling issues with their customers' orders
  • Update customer records based on interactions
  • Be aware of our constantly evolving products and services
  • Taste test product

Qualifications:

  • Previous food service office experience in customer service, inside sales support and/or order entry strongly preferred
  • Accurate order entry skills
  • Ability to build rapport and develop relationships with our customers
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid math and computer skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Effective under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude

Education:

  • High school diploma required, college degree preferred

This is a full-time, in office position with overtime.
