Bioinformatics Co-op Fall 2024

This is a 6-month Co-op starting on July 8th and run till December 20th, 2024. This will be 50% onsite.

Pay: $28-32/hr

In partnership with a major life science organization, we are seeking a currently enrolled Masters or PhD level student available for a 6-month engagement and located in/around Billerica, MA. This life science organization plays an integral part in the life science community, harnessing passion and innovation to help researchers and drug producers around the world. As science advances, they advance with it, offering new insight and cutting-edge technologies helping customers solve the world's most challenging human health issues.

Your Role:

Targeted mRNA delivery (TMD) is seeking a self-starter, highly motivated and eager to learn co-op in their Digital team. This co-op will learn from some of the best scientists within the organization on bioinformatics techniques and biological assays. In your day-to-day activities, you will learn how to design and implement data pipelines for sequence analyses related to lipid nanoparticles encapsulating nucleic acids. You will sit in a large cross-functional team and work directly with computational and formulation experts. In this six-month period, the co-op will gain knowledge of experimental workflows in LNP discovery incl. in-vivo assays and NGS, aid in developing and implementing bioinformatics pipelines, and interact with the top leaders of the organization to present their scientific findings.

Who You Are:

• Graduate student currently enrolled in a Masters or a PhD Program in Bioinformatics
• Senior in undergraduate program in Bioinformatics
• Previous experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical industry
• 1 year of programming experience (Python or R preferred) and working knowledge of cloud computing
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Able to commute to Billerica, MA and work 50% onsite
