The Quality Engineer ensures products and processes meet customer and quality standards. Key responsibilities include developing quality control systems, conducting audits, managing corrective actions, and leading continuous improvement efforts. The role also involves training employees and ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in manufacturing or aerospace quality engineering, along with strong analytical and leadership skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and uphold systems for quality control, assurance, and process oversight to meet both internal standards and external customer expectations.
  • Educate employees on quality control practices, SPC, quality assurance procedures, auditing techniques, and necessary documentation.
  • Conduct audits of products, processes, and systems to ensure effectiveness of corrective actions and compliance with standards.
  • Actively lead or participate in corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Execute closed-loop corrective actions and conduct thorough root cause analyses.
  • Organize and document employee training activities and manage various program or project assignments to enhance company systems and products.
  • Create and implement control plans, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other quality planning documents.
  • Develop and establish standards and methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products.
  • Manage the analysis of defective products returned by customers and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Develop and apply methods for the timely handling of non-conforming materials and assess associated costs and responsibilities.
  • Review Manufacturing Operation Sheets to verify that process changes, machining methods, and sequence alterations do not negatively impact quality or breach contractual agreements.
  • Represent quality assurance in new product start-up teams and identify any specific customer requirements for workmanship or traceability.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations; complete all required compliance training and stay informed about internal compliance policies and changing regulations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred OR Equivalent Exp
  • 5+ years exp
  • Aerospace or Manufacturing exp
  • Knowledge or experience with ISO9000:2000, AS9100 Quality Systems, ISO17025, NADCAP, AS13100.
  • Experience performing internal and supplier audits.
  • Experience in the use of statistical methods for process control, capability analysis and gage R&R studies.
  • Ability to perform statistical calculations, process capability studies, and data analysis, including knowledge of math, statistics, blueprint reading and an understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience performing internal and supplier audits. AS 9100 Rev D.
