Job DescriptionNewSouth Technologies is in search for a SQL Database Analyst in the Tallahassee, FL region.The SQL DBA Analyst will deliver database application support, ongoing maintenance, architecture design, data integration workflows, and compliance-driven service operations in alignment with security, privacy, and change management standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, reliability, and the ability to respond to mission-critical and emergency events.***This role is based in Tallahassee, FL and is a FULLY ON-SITE position (including some occasional nights and weekends). ***It is an initial 6-months contract position, with the possibility of a long-term extension.The hourly rate is about $45HR-$50HR depending on the ideal candidate's background and experience.Scope of WorkThe SQL DBA Analyst shall perform the following service tasks:Provide support, ongoing maintenance, and required modifications to production database applications.Collaborate with agency customers to develop and implement data intake and distribution processes while ensuring full compliance with security guidelines.Assist in creating the Database Architecture and Strategic Plans for agency partners.Deliver research and analytical services for emerging projects and new initiatives.Develop protocols and procedures for implementing existing and newly developed database applications within the current environment.Implement changes to database applications in accordance with Agency Change Management and Service Request procedures.Produce technical documentation and comprehensive project documentation upon request.Conduct Pilot Projects and evaluate new technologies to support current and future processes.Develop and maintain accurate timelines, project updates, and task reporting.Maintain detailed and accurate records of hours worked and tasks completed for each project.Comply with all Agency policies, including security, privacy, procedures, and cost-allocation documentation requirements.Document work activities through approved Change Management, Service Desk, and Cost Allocation procedures.Participate in emergency duty assignments, which may require work before, during, and after emergency events, including nights and weekends.Perform other duties as assigned by the Platform Manager.Internal Processes & SupportThe SQL DBA Analyst will be responsible for supporting internal processes and technical operations, including:Follow all established team processes and procedures.Develop documentation for support processes, systems, and procedures.Participate in the Change Management workflow.Track and record time accurately for Professional Services billing.Provide second-level technical support to internal and external customers.Ensure security, confidentiality, and availability of all systems and data.Monitor the Service Desk ticketing system and respond within published time expectations.Participate in on-call rotations and perform overtime when required.Support Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities.Develop quality control methods to ensure all platform outputs meet required standards.Requirements2+ years of professional as a SQL DBA AnalystExperience supporting enterprise database applications in production environments.Knowledge of database architecture, data pipelines, and enterprise data flows.Understanding of State of Florida security, privacy, and procedural guidelines.Familiarity with Change Management, Service Desk operations, and Service Request processes.Ability to work on-call, respond to emergencies, and support disaster recovery operations.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear technical documentation
