Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept:

As a Complex Custom Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our innovative team, training and developing your skills to excel in the following duties:

  • Master sheet metal fabrication techniques to design robust, durable, and easy-to-assemble components.
  • Craft custom truck accessories and flatbeds using SolidWorks 2022.
  • Develop comprehensive design documentation, including technical drawings, bill of materials, and design specifications.
  • Simplify complex concepts for seamless communication across various company functions, bridging the gap between customers, customer service, engineering services, and new product development.
  • Maintain and update Design Error Lessons Learned, ensuring corrective actions are captured through ECRs and process updates.
  • Apply quality principles to new designs, tackle complex custom orders, and drive new product development projects.
  • Utilize Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) when necessary.
  • Occasionally interface with customers to define and optimize complex design requirements.
  • Ensure manufacturable, cost-effective designs compliant with industry standards.
  • Lead the 'Manufacturing Integration CAD Review' for complex custom orders.
  • Oversee the daily fabrication process to ensure design requirements are met by the manufacturing team.
  • Collaborate with external partners and design resources to solve product development challenges, maintaining top-tier design quality and performance.
  • Evaluate and select suitable materials for product components, considering strength, weight, and durability.



What We're Looking For:

  • Passion for trucks, 4x4s, and the trucking industry.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Experience in sheet metal and hands-on mechanical engineering within the automotive and/or trucking industries.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • (Preferred) Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field.
  • Strong analytical and hands-on mechanical skills.
  • Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to develop groundbreaking product ideas.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and related stack analysis.
  • Familiarity with fabrication shop equipment such as lasers, press brakes, welders, and robots. Machined part creation experience is a bonus.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and cost considerations.



Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequent computer and keyboard use for extended periods.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Physical dexterity to manipulate and assemble small components and prototypes.
