We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of delivering top-notch service.
Role Description:
As a Diesel Technician at Coastal Carriers, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of diesel engines. You will work closely with other technicians to ensure that our vehicles operate at their highest efficiency. Certification assistance will be provided to the right candidate, supporting your professional growth in this key role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in diesel engines and associated components.
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed to enhance or repair equipment performance.
- Inspect and adjust air brake systems as required.
- Maintain and repair tractor-trailers to ensure reliability and safety.
- Overhaul engines when necessary to achieve optimal performance.
- Collaborate with dealership resources to source necessary parts and tools.
- Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with a variety of diesel engines used in commercial motor vehicles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with suspension systems and related components.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Certification in Air Brake Systems is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in diesel engine repair and mechanical knowledge is preferred.
