Herrmann's Service Center is a family owned and operated heavy duty truck repair shop in Troy Ohio operating since 1973.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have verifiable shop experience and a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with heavy duty engine repairs.

The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy duty diesel engines and vehicles, performing diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to find faults, and repairing or replacing engine, steering, transmission, braking or lighting system components.

Duties:

-Complete DOT forms and other forms of documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Diagnose and repair engine mechanical issues
- Conduct inspections to identify faulty components
- Repair or replace defective parts such as pistons, rods, gears, and bearings
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning post-repairs
- Assemble and disassemble engines as needed
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs and services performed

Qualifications:

-Must have a VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
- VERIFIABLE SHOP EXPERIENCE with a minimum of 5 YEARS HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE with Heavy duty DIESEL ENGINE repairs
- Proficiency in USING A COMPUTER AND DIAGNOSTIC SOFTWARE and repairing diesel engines
- Knowledge of HVAC systems in diesel vehicles
- Ability to work with industrial equipment such as cranes and tractors
- Experience in soldering to repair electrical components
- Familiarity with shocks, struts, and other suspension components
- Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks
- Strong ability to dig into complex engine issues for troubleshooting
