Key Responsibilities for the Landscape Business Development Salesperson:
- Proactively prospect and generate leads through networking, referrals, and additional outreach efforts.
- Conduct initial consultations with potential clients to understand their landscaping needs, preferences, and budgetary requirements.
- Collaborate closely with your team to implement your design vision and develop innovative, customized proposals.
- Present design concepts and proposals to clients, effectively communicating the value and benefits of our services.
- Understanding product availability is essential for meeting deadlines for job completion.
- Negotiate contracts and terms of agreements with clients, ensuring a mutual understanding of project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Demonstrating previous success in achieving sales metrics.
- Provide ongoing support and assistance to clients throughout the project lifecycle, serving as their primary point of contact and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities for business growth.
Qualifications:
- Business-to-business sales experience is required; preferably in the landscaping, horticulture, pest control or construction industries.
- Experience in snow removal contracts or business is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, lead generation, and client acquisition.
- Knowledge of landscaping principles, plant materials, and construction techniques is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
- Creative mindset with a passion for landscape design and outdoor living spaces.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation abilities
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a drive to exceed sales targets and achieve results.
- Horticulture certification is highly preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Horticulture, or related field is a plus
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
