Hourly Pay Rate: $22/hour
Contract Length: 3 months with potential to extend
Our client, a global music and entertainment provider, is seeking a paralegal on a contract basis to work with its legal team based out of the company's Santa Monica office. The ideal candidate will have previous music and/or general entertainment experience, with experience conducting research on artist agreements and company catalogs for ancillary rights.
This will be a 3-month full-time (40 hours per week) contract with potential to extend, and will be a hybrid position, requiring 4 days in the company's Santa Monica office location weekly.
Responsibilities:
- Research artist agreements in regard to the exploitation of the company's catalog to be reissued by the company or by third parties.
- Research the company's catalog to unlock ancillary rights.
- Maintain and organize files including all relevant correspondence.
- Maintain relevant files in the computer-based licensing system.
- Assist in department and company projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- At least 2 years' experience with artist contracts.
- Entertainment/Music experience preferred.
- Ability to influence and negotiate.
- Must be able to work under time constraints.
- Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities.
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to assess and analyze opportunities and issues.
- Extremely well organized.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
