Marketing Content Coordinator


ASK is looking to hire a full-time Marketing Content Coordinator to assist with our marketing and communications efforts. This person will work closely with and report to the Associate Director of Marketing to support the production of ASK’s external-facing digital and print communications. One of the most crucial tasks for this person will be overseeing and managing ASK’s social media presence and platforms. Managing ASK’s social media presence entails the creation of design assets such as branded icons and content for ASK’s social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.), as well as brainstorming new and creative ways to engage with and grow ASK’s social media audiences. Additionally, this position will support the Program Department in creating digital and print materials as needed. This position is a great opportunity to experience the various aspects of marketing and design while working for an established community-based nonprofit organization with a positive and impactful mission.


Roles and Responsibilities:

The Marketing Content Coordinator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities in four core areas (with estimates of time devoted to each).


Graphic Design and Content Creation: (60%)

  • Manage social media presence by creating, curating, and posting content on ASK’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). Ensure all copy abides by ASK's voice, style, and tone. 
  • Provide editing and graphic design support on print and electronic communications for program projects and events, including graphics for postcards, flyers, signage, invitations, brochures, etc.
  • Provide social media support for the programs team and oversee the posting and scheduling of their posts.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions on social media platforms.
  • Foster a positive and interactive online community by engaging with followers and addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback.


Strategy Development: (20%) 

  • Collaborating with the marketing team, create and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the brand's goals and target audience.
  • Develop content calendars, posting schedules, and campaigns to ensure consistent and engaging content.


Data Analytics and Social Optimization: (15%)

  • Ongoing social listening and monitoring of ASK’s social media channels to keep tabs on our audience and their engagement with us, any local community fundraisers, trending topics relevant to childhood cancer, etc.
  • Regularly analyze social media performance using metrics like engagement, reach, clicks, and conversions.
  • Generate reports summarizing the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies and use insights to refine future efforts.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand the target audience's preferences, behaviors, and trends.
  • Utilize audience insights to tailor content and messaging to resonate with the intended demographic.


Content Optimization: (5%)

  • Implement SEO principles and best practices to optimize social media profiles and posts for search visibility.
  • Utilize relevant keywords, hashtags, and descriptions to increase discoverability.
  • Testing and finding the best times and days for certain social media posts and platforms. 


To be successful in this role, our Content Coordinator will:

  • Stay informed about the evolving social media landscape, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms.
  • Attend webinars, workshops, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Stay current with social media trends, viral content, and industry news.
  • Incorporate relevant trends into a content strategy to maintain relevancy and capture audience interest.
  • Conduct A/B tests on different content types, posting times, and strategies to optimize engagement and conversion rates.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine future campaigns.


Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, advocacy, and/or fundraising.
  • Graphic design experience required with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Proven experience in content development, including but not limited to graphics, writing, and editing skills for social media, web, and print communications.
  • Firm understanding of ASK’s primary social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube + TikTok) and 3-5 examples of digital content you’ve created in previous roles.
  • Prior experience working in Canva and Adobe Design Products 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel, along with Google Drive
  • Out-of-the-box creativity, good organizational skills, strong attention to detail, eager to learn new skills and bring new ideas to the table
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Enthusiastic support of ASK’s mission
  • Prior experience with basic photo editing – video editing is a plus
  • Prior experience designing print materials
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills
  • Previous experience in content marketing and/or graphic design


Hours:

This is a 40-hour-per-week, in-person position. The estimated start date is mid-August. Depending on needs, hours may also include some evenings and weekend events.
