Senior Linux Administrator (RHEL/Ubuntu)

Full-Time Position

Location: The Colony, TX (Hybrid: Tues, Wed, Thurs)


Responsibilities:

Oversee server maintenance, addressing hardware and operating system issues.

Manage asset and patching management processes.

Maintain backups for enterprise systems, covering ERP, data warehouses, email, and application servers.

Document and communicate all network and system configurations effectively.

Develop and maintain proactive monitoring systems for both systems and application servers to meet Service-Level Agreements (SLAs).

Lead and execute infrastructure projects and address customer requests.

Collaborate with users to identify and resolve issues in business applications.

Conduct audits and tests on internal systems to ensure optimal performance.

Support Database Administrators with Linux-related tasks such as disk support and local networking.

Proactively build effective relationships and support team members to achieve high performance.

Coordinate with other IT department members to resolve issues promptly and ensure customer satisfaction.

Take ownership of directing, controlling, and planning essential job responsibilities.

Maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning.

Manage client environment configuration using group policies, login scripts, etc.

May require after-hours and weekend work.

Deliver excellent customer service at all times.


Skills:

5-10 years of overall System Administration experience in a large enterprise environment.

Proficiency in LAN and WAN network administration concepts and techniques.

Extensive experience in Linux administration and troubleshooting, with familiarity across multiple Linux distributions.

Experience supporting enterprise environments with 100+ servers.

Basic knowledge of Windows Administration.

Familiarity with enterprise backup software.

Proficiency in server and network monitoring tools.

Preferred experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Ability to implement security controls and procedures.

Experience with security in Linux environments within a Windows domain is desirable.

Experience in network migrations, upgrades, and conversions across multiple Linux environments.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and changing priorities.

Detail-oriented, accurate, and well-organized with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with a diverse employee/customer population.

Experience in training and mentoring junior technicians in a team environment.

Ability to meet position expectations with minimal guidance or supervision.

Experience with Veeam and Nagios support is a plus.
