A renowned organization, operating within the energy sector, is committed to accelerating the transition towards sustainable energy solutions. They are currently in search of an experienced Project Manager to join their team and oversee interconnection processes for utility-scale solar projects. The ideal candidate will navigate projects seamlessly through interconnection phases, managing various aspects of preconstruction and construction, including substation and high-voltage infrastructure. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, ensuring projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and scopes while mitigating risks effectively.


Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

  • Manage interconnection processes during preconstruction and construction phases.
  • Collaborate on facilities studies and decisions regarding switchyard and collector substation construction.
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams to develop project designs and specifications.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate procurement and manage long lead items for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with interconnection agreements and milestones.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with ISO stakeholders and coordinate project integration.
  • Oversee telecom buildout and auxiliary station service agreements.
  • Lead negotiations and ensure compliance with HV switchyard EPC contracts.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish clear lines of accountability and interfaces.


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Project Management Professional Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Experience in energy or electrical distribution development preferred.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and budget management.
  • Familiarity with PJM and MISO tariffs and processes.
  • Prior experience with high voltage installations preferred.
  • Experience working within a solar development or EPC company preferred.
  • Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
